Mission and Community Outreach
As Christians we are called to be witnesses of God’s love for us in Jesus Christ.
To witness to God’s love and proclaim the good news of the Gospel, we must reach out into the community and the world. To this end, our church dedicates TIME, SPACE, and FINANCIAL RESOURCES to various mission and outreach programs.
With our TIME
-
we organize and raise funds for an ecumenical Thanksgiving Food Basket Ministry

we offer pastoral care counseling to people in need as well as premarital counseling to engaged couples
-
we participate in Operation Christmas Child (Christmas Shoeboxes through Samaritan's Purse), work with the local school district to provide tangible resources for displaced children in Ballston Spa, and we organize an ecumenical childrens program for families who work at the Saratoga Backstretch each summer.

we deliver milk three times a week to the Shelters of Saratoga to support their ongoing work with the homeless in Saratoga County

we lead worship at Saratoga Center for Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing (county nursing home) on the third Sunday of every month
With our SPACE
We reach out to community groups by offering use of our facilities. For example:

we charter a local Cub Scout pack

we provide space for the Living Resources day rehabilitation program

we provide meeting location for A.A. ADK Freedom Group and Nar Anon Family Group

we welcome community members during special Village celebrations and events, such as the Village's annual Victorian Christmas celebration and parade

With our RESOURCES
We dedicate over 10 percent of our income to support mission enterprises beyond our doors. In 2017, we supported the following individuals/organizations with mission dollars:

- InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in the Capital district (ministry of Danielle Bailey)
- Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee)
- Race Track/ Backstretch Kids Program
- Love in Action (Ballston Spa School Scotties Pantry)
- Shelters of Saratoga/ Code Blue
- Ballston Area Clergy Association Community Assistance Fund providing financial assistance to Ballston Spa residents in financial crisis.
